We recommend this clean be done every 1000-5000 Roasts
There is a big variable because it does depend on the coffee and how you roast.
If you are roasting very light, say 5-10% development you may be able to roast 2500-5000 batches before its required.
If you are roasting darker coffee, say 10-30% then you will be in the 1000-2500 range.
If you are doing this maintenance yourself, the best practice is to do this regularly, so oil and fat don’t get a chance to build up, making it harder to clean the impellers properly. The process includes two areas: ventilation exit in the back and from the top of the roaster.
