With the addition of the pint sized Bezzera ARIA just under two years ago, we are THRILLED to introduce the SOLE! Sharing a similar size to the MITICA TOP PID and stepping away from the traditional design language, the new Bezzera SOLE will impress in looks and performance!

This machine is equipped with a rotary pump that can be installed anywhere without the need for connections to the water mains, easy touse and heavy-duty espresso coffee machine.

A compact machine with a big heart; despite its small size thanks to the boiler with heat exchanger and the E61 type lever group powered by a thermosiphonic circulation hydraulic system, the SOLE model guarantees thermal stability like a commercial machine.

Has adjustable brewing temperature and shot timer chronometer to keep coffee flow under control, never miss a shot. Optional using the brewing profile paddle control on the group to adjust brewing pressure maximizing the extraction quality. The rotary motor pump guarantees uniform and silent pressure delivery like a PRO machine! Maximum flexibility; the rotary pump is connected to a double water source system that allow to plug the machine to the main water supply or to use the internal fresh water tank.

Vibration vs Rotary Pump

A rotary vane pump will ramp up to 9 bar quickly and smoothly, whereas the vibration pump will build pressure through a pulsing action that takes a few more seconds. Some will argue this slower build up as as advantage to avoid channeling. others argue the rotary pump provides a more linear build up that promotes consistency. They are different, you can get amazing espresso using either type of pump.

On the cost side of things, rotary pumps are more expensive and if used with high quality water will last seemingly forever. Vibration pumps can fail in as short as one year or can last for decades (water quality really matters here), but they are cheap and easy to replace.

Rotary pumps sound smoother and are a little bit quieter as they don't vibrate and rattle around as much - but which sounds better is sometimes subjective to the individual.
