  • Product description

Are you looking to buy SSP 80mm Burrs to fit Ditting 804/807, Mahlkonig Peak and E80 in Australia?

SSP's 80mm burrs in the screw-hole mount, for the Ditting 804 and 807 and the Mahlkonig Peak and E80, which all share the same burr platform. Choose the burr and coating above. Each one is a straight swap for the factory burrs, no shims.

    Which burr

    • Cast Lab Sweet (LS): SSP's re-cut of the old Ditting 804 cast burr, and the easiest 80mm for espresso. Sweet and balanced with good body, it handles espresso and filter from the one set and suits medium to dark roasts, naturals and processed coffees. Red Speed or Silver Knight.
    • Low Uniformity (LU): filter that is clean but forgiving, with light espresso as a side job. Red Speed or Silver Knight.
    • High Uniformity (HU): at 80mm this is a high clarity filter burr, close to Weber's EG-1 Ultra, and not the espresso cut the name suggests at 64mm. Best on light washed coffees; espresso only as fast, long ratio shots. Red Speed or Silver Knight.
    • Brewing: SSP's newer filter burr, a refinement of the 80mm HU that is sold as more forgiving. Not the one to buy for espresso. Red Speed or Silver Knight.
    • SKD11 (uncoated): SKD-11 tool steel with 60 teeth on the top burr and 65 on the bottom, cut for grinding speed. Uncoated, so it costs less than the coated sets and wears faster: figure on roughly 1,000 to 2,000kg of coffee where a coated set runs to about 5,000kg.

Choose the cut first. SSP suggests Red Speed (TiAlCN) for espresso and Silver Knight for filter. Owners who have compared both mostly say the cut makes the bigger difference. Both are rated for roughly 4,000 to 5,000kg of coffee.

    Compatibility

    • Ditting KR804 and KR807 (all versions, including Lab Sweet)
    • Mahlkoenig Peak and Ditting Peak
    • Mahlkoenig E80S, E80S GbW, E80W GbS and E80 Supreme
    • The original Lyn Weber EG-1 with a screw-mount carrier

SSP makes 80mm burrs in several mounts that do not swap. This screw-hole set is not for the current Weber EG-1, Zerno Z2 or Lagom P80 (choose our SSP 80mm Blind Burrs), the Mahlkoenig Tanzania or Ditting 805 (2-pin version), or Bunn grinders (Bunn version). Ask us if you are not sure which mount you have.

    Features

    • 80mm flat burrs, screw-hole mount
    • Tool steel, made by SSP in South Korea
    • High Uniformity, Low Uniformity, Brewing and Cast Lab Sweet in Red Speed or Silver Knight, or uncoated SKD11
    • Bigger burrs take longer to settle in: owners report 10 to 30kg of coffee before the cup is at its best

    What's in the box

    • 1 x Set of SSP 80mm burrs (upper and lower) in the burr and coating you choose
